About the Thales UK Pension Schemes

Owing to the history of the Group, including the acquisitive nature of Thales in the UK, Thales inherited a complex array of pension arrangements. There were:

• Nine distinct Defined Benefit Schemes
• A Stakeholder Pension Scheme
• Thales participates in the Railways Pension Scheme.

Thales undertook a review of the pension arrangements it sponsors during 2007 with a view to making its UK pension arrangements more sustainable and affordable.

This concluded in 2008 with the introduction of CARE for future benefits and the merger of the vast majority of the defined benefit schemes into the Thales UK Pension Scheme.
